If you really want to buy something would you not want to buy it
cheaper?
Imagine yourself wanting to eat for a long time and all the sudden
hamburgers goes at 10-20% discount.
You'll buy and eat, right ?
Same with physical gold/silver, it was becoming a little too expensive
to buy in large quantities here.
Investors in physical bullion welcome any short term pullbacks and
adding more stuff, as we know , the window of opportunity is slowly
closing...
$ 950-960 is the "floor" for gold
$ 13.80-14.00 is the "floor" for silver

And that will be the last chance to get that stuff for cheap.

Gold $ 1,200.00+ in 6 months
Silver $ 19-21.00 in 6 months

Count on that

Good luck

Why? I see absolutely no evidence for Gold to rise except as a safe
haven investment. Don't bet on inflation to send gold up or you'll be
waiting a while.

Gold as a "hedge" against inflation only is a myth commonly known to
most traders.
In fact historically gold outperforms anyother assets in time of
turmoil inflation-deflation regardless.
There will be corrections on its way up, but the trend is up up
up.....
I am even more bullish on silver in a longer term, however its moves
up and down are more vicious as it is less liquid market.
As a silver investor for some time now 20 % moves up or down in a week
does not shake my confidence anymore...
In $ 14.00 range I will be agressive buyer , in $ 18.00 I will unload
1/3 of my positions..
Gold I'll be buying again at $ 960.00 or so and at $ 1,040.00 I unload
first 1/3 of positions
I recently started buying back some mining companies as theirs shares
plunged way before the price of gold did reversed.
They will reverse up also before gold goes up again.

Right now I am not buying gold, but I am not selling anymore neither.

It is a "waiting" game for a couple weeks through october...

Stay put...

It is good to see the GLD blogs without so much spam for a change.

Bear with me friends while I throw out a few of my personal opinions.
Not facts, but opinions.

How interesting that treasury yields stay so low and demand is so
strong for U.S. Gov. debt. Learn more about indirect bidders for these
instruments and you may find some clues as to how we are paying for
all of the recent largesse. Let's see now, the government is buying
insurance firms, banks, automobile companies, cars from the auto
companies it bought, health care for 47 million new customers, and on
and on and on. It took a year to get to where we are, but suppose the
gov had announced all of these programs in one day last year? That
would have moved the gold price, to be sure. But by spreading
everything out over time it all seems to make some sense, and the gold
price has not moved all that much. But does it make sense? Am I the
only one who feels like what is happening to us is some sort of dream,
a farcial fantasy created by a fanatical screenwriter?

I will never personally see gold as a get-rich investment, but it is a
good hedge against inflation or failing currency. On the other hand,
the gov could simply outlaw gold ownership again. When I was in high
school it was still illegal to own gold bullion and I am not all that
old. OK, enough ranting. Has anyone noticed that the floor prices on
gold and silver seem to be gradually creeping up?

By floor price, do you mean premiums on physical? I notice that but
remember that the premium in % of spot also varies. When silver was
trading in the single digits, the % premium was running 50-60% in ebay
prices (ebay used as best indicator of market price). Now the %
premium is less than 20%. Gold is very similar but of course not as
extreme.

As always, my personal opinions only. No facts here. Just speculations
and rambling.

I was referring to a floor price on spot gold. The premium on physical
gold is equally interesting however. The size of the premium (minus
actual handling costs and required profit margin)  is a good barometer
of physical metal demand versus ability to deliver. As gold
increasingly becomes mined from balance sheets and complex transfers
rather than from holes in the ground, the relationships between the
value of physical gold and paper gold should get pretty funky and
confusing, if not already.

An imponderable for those of you who hold the yellow metal. What the
heck is a Physical Gold ETF? Now I know what it means in theory,
but.....

Trivia- there are two other yellow metals- copper and plutonium.
Physical copper would be great to hold but it would take up too much
space. And plutonium, well my wife would probably complain about
glowing bars in the basement. But our spider problem would go away.

That is all I know.

It was a bad week thurs. and fri. the worst - the entire market
dipped! So nothing mysterious about a little dip in GLD SLV corn or
coal or anything else. Since American "homes", for the very most part,
caused a global financial meltdown bordering catastrophe - any news
about home sales will get a reaction - unfortunately the reaction is
way too late. The dip in gld and slv is good, as someone else posted,
you can buy more! Buy as much as you can and hold on to it. I wish I
could, heck I wish I could buy a pair of jeans! Every empire collapses
the collapse always has greed at the center - we never learn. So while
the good ole USA will soon be answering to China, and a united and
very powerful Europe who's currency is on the way to making ours
laughable, gold will be a very good thing to have. As the dollar goes
lower, inflation rises and gold is at a minimum $3000 an ounce todays
dip will be simply FUNNY

Happy gold diggin to you!

PS. All of that is according to "the experts" I don't have a clue I
hope they are wrong and that your gold goes up too
