What the hell is going on today with GLD and SLV...what a crazy ride.
I’ve been investing in gold and silver for a while. Expect sideways
movement until the end of October. After that, it’s going up and up.
Technical analysis tells that we are in the middle of a bullish move.
The peak expected by December 25th, so hold on tight.

It is always a wild ride around the time of commodities futures
expiration days.
I think we'll see some pressure by the banksters to "flush" the weak
gold/silver holders out of theirs positions.
I would see it as buying opportunity, just don't go all in with one
purchase , I am buying small on its way down.
There has been a lot of empty talk from a lot of officials about the
importance of strong dollar, I see it as just an attempt to talk the
gold/silver down before the treasuries auction next week.

Right at the auction day is when I "strike" my major buy.

I see this pattern for a few months now.

An actual GLD blog with no SPAM yet! Drop a gold brick on my foot, I
must be dreaming.

As usual, my personal opinions only.

With all of the gov spending and the present and future deficits, to
me the arguments about whether there will be inflation and a
continuing decline in the US dollar are beginning to sound like shop
talk. I mean, look where we are at. Spending trillions we do not have,
the FED purchasing its own treasuries since March 25, and plenty of
expensive legislative bills on the docket as well as expiration of the
Bush tax cuts looming and new taxes ascending. What is the end game
here? Is the US immune from the same financial principles that toppled
other regimes and currencies? I know that the stock market is rising,
why shouldn't it with trillions of easy money flooding the system?
Yeah, yeah I know that Japan had quantitative easing too and Britain
and many European countries are engaging in some money creation- but
remember that these countries are not dead broke and untold trillions
in the hole to begin with. When a freight train runs out of fuel it
coasts a long time before it stops- because it is so big and heavy. At
this stage I am just looking for the tipping point in all of this
economic madness. What will be the tipping point?

Tipping point?
Maybe when ink factories and dealers raise prices so much that the FED
will have to add 2 zeros to each note they create just to cover the
cost...LOL

But seriously, the problem here is nobody knows how much dollars are
out there, who owns them , where they were spend and what for...
It is a party like there is no tomorrow...

I got a bad feelings about what's coming, currencies are being created
by just click of a mouse and input to a digital system with no back
stop control at all.

I said currencies, there are many , but money is only 2 - Gold and its
brother silver..

Anyway, just some of my thoughts on the crap we are facing.

It is going to get a lot worse, much worse..

Just my personal opinions.

One possible tipping point would be the failure of a major company to
deliver physical gold for someone holding paper that guarantees
physical gold delivery. An ensuing panic could increase the price of
physical gold so quickly that the US gov has to again ban the
ownership of gold bullion, just like it did from the 1930's to the
1970's. This in turn could create more panic as investors rush to
other hard commodities. I have another tipping point scenario, but it
is too foreboding to put in print. I do not want to create the future
by suggesting the future. My prediction record has been pretty poor
most of my life anyway, because I never appreciated how long it takes
a freight train to stop once it has run out of fuel.

I understand what you mean. I follow GATA works.
I think the silver paper markets are even more tight than gold
markets, mr Ted Butler writes about it for years, I follow his work
closely.

There is at least 10X more paper traded than there is physical stuff
available, if just a few holders ask for delivery at the same time, it
will be a rock&roll like a good old dotcom times...

But also I think you are right about government intervention in this
case, maybe not banning ownership , but some kind of mandated price
control.

We'll see, in a mean time , I am creating my portfolio of junior gold/
silver miners, real companies with a huge future..

Good luck everybody..

As I said in my first reply on this topic, this action in commodity
markets should have been expected mainly because it is treassuries
auction and futures expiration week.

Gold should find support at $ 1,025.00 level, silver between $
15.80-16.00

The mining stocks are getting slaughtered and are mostly at june-july
levels.

I loaded some more today.

Day  traders do what you need to do, med-long term investors in
precious metals sector just hang on what you got and maybe look to add
some more.

You gotta get them when nobody wants them...:-)

Stay cool

The banning of personal gold ownership is a moot point to most
governments these days as the private citizen is rarely concerned with
owning it. The real power lies in maintaining prison systems and
bureaucracies to enforce the perceived value of currencies and if
needed to enforce its will by military means.

I mean before WWII the United States had no army to speak and didn't
have nuclear weapons. Post war people didn't value the dollar because
the US backed it all by gold, but rather they were the major player on
the world stage politically and militarily.

Now we may see China replace the US in the next 25 years as the new
global super power, but people will simply trade in Yuan at Walmart
instead of the dollar. Gold will still be gold...

Odyssey Marine Exploration's Rare and Historic Gold Coin Holdings far
exceed its' current Market Capitlaization of $90,000,000. OMEX could
be an interesting "back door" play on the current move in Gold. OMEX
announced today the funding of the recovery effort for the Gold
bearing shipwreck, code named 'Enigma', by Robert Fraser & Partners
LLP for $3,500,000 usd. This very specific funding agreement will
avoid any potential dilution to shareholders while preserving
operating capital. Under the terms of this agreement OMEX receives 80%
of the first $20,000,000 in recoveries, and then 50% of all recoveries
thereafter. OMEX has dedicated its' most advanced Research Vessel, and
its' most Experienced Crew, communicating the priority of this Project
for the management team.

Looks like a parabolic move for gold. Those never end well (see oil
last year). But I think gold can continue to climb short term, as
investors don't want to own dollars (any of them). Everyone is
overweight dollars, when you think about it.

Gold need short term pullback to about $ 1,080.00 so it can take a
breather.

But after that , I would not be surprised of a move over $ 1,500.00 in
its second leg up.

The 3th leg up will take it way over 2K , but at this point, I am
going to sell some ( but not before:-)
